The tunnel kept expanding and expanding. All he could see at the far end was shadows. He could not tell how long it went on, but he was sure there were tricks happening to his eyes.
“This hall can’t be this long! That’s impossible!” Mark stumbled to a halt.
“Mark?” the voice called again, “Is that you? I’m scared!”
“Yamimash!” Mark cupped his hands around his mouth, “Yamimash! I’m coming!”
“Mark! Where are you?” the voice called.
“I’m here, Yami!” Mark called.
He continued walking along the hall. He was having a hard time catching his breath again. He kept his pace going though, wanting to find Aaron sooner rather than later.
The subtle glow of a purple vial caught the corner of his eye. He stopped to pick it up and stuff it into his pocket. He patted his pocket and looked around.
His eyes grazed over the darkness of the tunnel, searching carefully for other useful vials, “Are there any more of these-”
His eyes caught the edge of a doorway on the wall. He patted the wall, searching for signs of a door. He was relieved to find that there was a metal door, though he was not sure how relieved he should be. Barely able to see the details in the darkness, he searched the cold metal for a handle or knob.
“Maaaark!” Aaron called.
“Come this way, Yami!” Mark called down the hallway, “There’s a door here!”
“No Mark!” Aaron called, “Come this way!”
“Yami! It’s safe! It’ll be fine!” Mark called, as he continued patting the door.
“No Mark! No! It’s locked! It’s a trap! Come this way!” Aaron called.
Mark’s hand came upon a handle. It turned easily, sending the door open easily. The light outside was surprisingly bright. It was a stark change from the countless hours of darkness.
The relief of the light washed over him. He sighed with relief at being able to walk out of the hallway. He did not understand the placement of the door though.
“Mark!” Aaron called from inside the terrifying hallway, “Maaark! Maaaaaark!”
“Yamimash! Come on!” Mark called, as he left the door behind, “Come to the light! Come outside!”
“Maaaaark!” Aaron’s voice called. He was coming closer though.
“Come outside Yami!” Mark called.
He looked around the yard, where the brightly colored green contrasted the stark darkness of the mansion itself. He felt like he was back in the real world, if only for a moment. Everything was happy and peaceful again, far removed from the dark creepiness of a ghost ridden mansion.
“Mark!” he heard Aaron calling.
“Yamimash! We need t-” he turned around to face the door, only to find a big shadowy creature slinking out of the door.
Its face was bleak white, eyeless and mouthless. It moved with inhuman grace. It never bent or leaned to one side or another. Its body stayed completely and rigidly upright.
“No no NOOOOOO!” Markiplier roared as he turned and ran.
