Tolerance vs Compassion

Tolerance
a fair, objective, and permissive attitude toward opinions and practices that differ from one's own
They say you should be tolerant of others' views. Right?
Sounds great right?
They say if we all had tolerance, then we would live in a place of peace and compassion.
But what is tolerance in today's world?
Letting people do or have what they want even if we disapprove?
I think that is the problem with today's people. They misunderstand tolerance. Tolerance is supposed to be a fair, objective and permissive attitude towards things. But we perceive it as simply letting people have what they want.
What are we doing in the background?
Judging them for doing something "gross" or "evil" or "injust."
Tolerance applies to many things, from politics, to religions, to normal everyday practices that a smaller number of people have.
Tolerance by its dictionary definition would work...to an extent...
We have this problem called human nature that makes us act in strange ways.
Personally, I have little tolerance for human nature. When it gets in the way of more important things, it is an awful way to view the world. I am not saying human nature is evil. Or that you are bad if human nature gets to you. It gets to me all the time.
I'm saying it feels unjust that human nature is a factor in what would be on paper a grand scheme of making this a better world.
Sound familiar?
This world would be better without human nature.
Look at wolves. They live together peacefully, even if there is some violence among them. They withstand society in a way that is more tolerant of whatever others want to do.
Horses?
Heh...I'll get to horses later.
But without human nature, we would not follow cues of our perception without thinking more thoroughly through what we are seeing others do.
See, unlike the wolves, we are highly intelligent creatures (we have a much bigger brain than they do) so we complicate our lives with more complex things that are not able to be simplified.
Religion and politics for example?
These aren't normal to human nature. Human society yes. Both ruling parties that tell us what we can and can't do, trying to form the rights and wrongs of humanity.
But there is not just one to follow, there are many.
Makes it harder when they mix...holy cow that's hard to ponder...
Oh, not it's not. It happens in countries like the United States...
Religious people have probably clicked away from here by now, but that's fine. If not, good for you for not letting human nature make you angry and ignore what you don't like.

Because turning away and ignoring it is what we have defined tolerance to be nowadays.

And it's not!

But back to the wolves thing...

We are so complex that we form these weird ruling parties. But not everybody agrees with the same one. Hence why we formed the Democrats and the Republicans (and out of our definition of tolerance we ignore third parties who try to bring differing opinions to the table).

So instead of taking these differing opinions into question, pondering them and why they are subjective, maybe even better than the existing perception (or not) they are cast aside as differing from the morals set out by the ruling party.
In the United States, we play free house. It's a dollhouse where every Ken Doll smiles happily as long as he gets his check and every Barbie Doll smiles through hardships.
I say these differently because the two genders both have problems. Poor things.
The Barbie Dolls have these "AJ" Dolls who decide that they must be above men, women are better, women can do anything men can anyways, right?
No...not really.
Ladies, don't get upset at me. I'm a woman, I know how it sounds. But hear me out.
Men can give seed that creates life, women cannot.
Women can host and nurture a child and men cannot.
Men can sing the lower bass vocals.
Women can sing the higher pitch vocals.
These are physical differences between the two sexes. We all know them, but why are they important.
Because these are actual reasons that we are very different.
Feminists, instead of pretending we are all the same and such...why not revel in being different?
I'm not a sexist, and I don't say men are right in being above us. Being able to plant the seeds or sing the low keys does not make men any better than women. It just makes them different...like another piece to the puzzle.

But, no puzzle is made of two pieces...not even the ones meant for a three year old.

We have many puzzle pieces, and they are different shapes, sizes and colors...

See what I'm getting at? And I'm not done...

Compassion
a feeling of deep sympathy and sorrow for another who is stricken by misfortune, accompanied by a strong desire to alleviate the suffering
Today, yesterday, tomorrow...Compassion has been and always will be a commodity many of us can't seem to afford.
We can't make it a part of our arsenal, so we refuse to pay attention to it.
So today in our diverse world (especially the United States, which is a blend of varying cultures and races) why is it that we are the most in-compassionate, bigoted, self-centered creatures?
Wolves don't care if your coat is white or black, you're a wolf.
Horses don't care either. In fact, they revel in their own diversity. If you look at a herd of horses, you won't find that they are all the same color. A foal is not even born the same color as its mother (in most cases). And I don't think it's a conscious decision...but they feel the same compassion for a red roan mare as for a bay stallion.
In fact, studies show that horses have homosexual relations (not all of them) and can have sexual tendencies of male on male relations.
Much of what you will find on the internet though is videos of people recording their horses, articles about how animals only use mating as hormonal response...
I'm just gonna make one argument...animals find sex in some way pleasant, else they might have more trouble mating. Why do you think it is pleasurable? So that we'll do it.
Horses enjoy it too, and they get horny. Mares usually get horny right around the time of being in heat.
This is hard to compare with humans because we become fertile every month...so more mating...I guess? Mares get in heat, or in season, at a certain time of the year when they're ready to mate.
"Oh but we have rape, and aggressive males, and sex crazed women!"
Yea, because we're fertile more often. Sex is pleasurable, so people want it. Aggression in sex and rape don't usually have anything to do with pleasure as they do with control...male horses don't seek control, they're already the stud (or otherwise they're the omega boy who stands second to the male the mares choose).
Another thing you'll find online is that now preachers (religious bigots) of the cowboy sort claim that riding horses can therapeutically take away the gay. They claim it is a choice due to shortcomings, abandonment and....rape?
I'm pretty sure most gay boys have not been raped.
I'm sure there are some posers out there, people who pretend (I dated a guy who posed as a bisexual).

If you wanna know my reaction? Watch this video of Will Nelson's song. I can't make it louder or clearer (some cowboys are gay!)

But why do people who are doing their own thing get such harshness?

I hear claims that nobody harps on homosexuals, or colored people, or women, or men anymore...

LIARS!

If you are that ignorant, you really need to educate yourself. The modern world really hasn't come far enough.

Go educate yourselves, you chuckle fucks!

Anyways, there is still racism, anti-certain-religions, and sexism (in varying forms).

Why?

Lack of compassion.

We tolerate people and define tolerance in our own way.

If you were compassionate, you would be understanding and kind towards people of a colored race, or women for taking the brunt of gender roles, or even men for taking a different version of the gender roles...

You would even be kind and understanding that people who are in love want to be in love.

You would congratulate a couple for celebrating their 50th anniversary wouldn't you?

What if both were men? or women?

Some of you would say yes...but given the chance you might avert your eyes, or mutter it...

It is a response based on compassion for our own troubles and troubles relating to our own causes...we don't actually feel compassion for their problems. We just tolerate what they do.

I'm not saying go out and congratulate a black guy for overcoming slavery and racial indifference.

NO!

I'm saying that to change the world and have a peaceful place, we need compassion.

So shut about tolerance, because it does not go next to love.

Compassion already covers:
a feeling of deep sympathy and sorrow for another who is stricken by misfortune, accompanied by a strong desire to alleviate the suffering
So why are we so butthurt? Just add a little love to that and THEN we'll be a world of peace and happiness.

I haven't even scraped the awful truth that people would allow a bakery shop to discriminate against a young American woman for wearing Muslim attire due to her religious beliefs.

Racism, sexism and anti-religion exists everywhere!

That reminds me though...I need to hit this one on the nose...

Those of you getting pissy at the religious people in general.

SHUT UP!

I'm not religious myself, rather spiritual. I don't have a church. And I try to have an open mind about religion. But for the love of- It's a free world!

Christians as a whole did not harm our society, it is much of the church's hardcore beliefs and indifferences.

And by being indifferent or tolerant to people who are religious, whether they are Islamic, Buddhist, Christian, etc. is just as bad as being racist or sexist.

Don't be a hypocrite!

Open your mind and your heart! Please!

For the sake of humanity, we need to open up our minds and hearts and be accepting with compassion and love, not tolerance and ignorance.

I can only ask though. I ask that you try to take others' feelings into consideration on a daily basis. Keep it to yourself, you'd be worse if you try bragging about it. It is not easy either, so you have to do it consciously for a long time to get it down. I myself am trying to learn, and I still sometimes forget my compassion.
